These compass cards are authentic ships compass cards meant to be used in the manufacture of Flat-Top compasses in the late 19th to the mid 20th century. They are basically old stock that have been stored in the archives of E.S.Ritchie and Sons, the oldest compass manufacturer in the United States. The process used to manufacture these dials was to glue a very fine linen cloth to a mica base, paint them white and then hand stencil the markings in black. The dials were then hand cut with curved scissors by technicians that were true artists, as seen by a close examination of the edges of the dials. Available in very limited quantities this is a once in a lifetime offering.
